Housing Accommodations:
- Students with accommodations who meet the priority deadline will have ensured needs prioritized, which can sometimes influence roommate group arrangements.
- Housing accommodations through Student Disability Services do not automatically roll over to the next year, however students can select the use the same accommodations in the housing application. Students should connect with their SDS accommodation specialist with any questions.

Top Asked and Answered Questions for the Webinar:
Is housing typically for the entire year or do students apply for each quarter?
Students apply for housing for the entire academic year, and are not required to reapply between quarters.
When do students who're studying abroad in the fall need to apply for winter/spring housing now?
The Winter and Spring housing application opens in October 2026. Due to limited space, we can provide more accurate information about occupancy openings in October. We encourage students who're abroad to set a reminder to check their DU email in October. HRE communicates directly with students who are abroad about on campus housing for their return.
My student is living in a sorority or fraternity, does that meet the second year live on requirement?
When it comes to Fraternity and Sorority housing, some answers depend on which facility they will be residing in. For the most comprehensive details, we recommend reviewing this website. Those facilities that are DU-owned/operated are subject to the same Guide to Residence Living, however each property sets their own rates for rooms. For facilities that are privately owned/operated, your student may request to be released from the two-year live on requirement to reside in one of these facilities. It is noted that DU does not handle any billing for these properties and they are considered off-campus housing.
If students don't get the housing they request (not available), what happens?
Students can sign up for another room type if able. There is not a waitlist at this time, but students can request a room change in the 3rd week of the quarter to a different preferred building or room.
