Can you give some examples of multicultural organizations?
The University of Denver currently has five Multicultural Fraternities and Sororities who promote higher education, provide community services, enhance leadership, and serve as a liaison between the Multicultural Organizations, the University student body, and administration, thereby improving the campus environment. Additionally, DU's National Pan-Hellenic Council is a collaborative organization of nine historically Black/African American fraternities and sororities and currently Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc is the only active chapter on campus.

What is Fraternity and Sorority life (FSL) like at DU?
FSL serves a wonderful opportunity to gain leadership experience, community engagement, volunteer hours, and life-long friendships. Many of these students also hold positions in the Undergraduate Student Government, the DU Programming Board (DUPB), Student Media Board and other prominent organizations across campus. As any university, each individuals experience will be unique and there is a level of competition during the official recruitment week however each of our organizations strive for inclusion, equality, and encourages potential new members to come as they are. We encourage you to reach out to our fraternity and sorority organizations for more information and to gain a better sense of each organization.

Do students live in the sorority houses?
Yes, the majority of Fraternity and Sorority members will live in their chapters house during their sophomore year of college. By living in a sorority or fraternity house, students take care of the two year live on requirement however students may still choose to live in the dorms during their sophomore year. Not all of our sororities and fraternities have houses on campus and you can reach out to a chapter individually for specific information on their live-in opportunities.
Do people need to have recommendation letters before going through FSL recruitment?
No! At DU, individuals do not need to bring a letter of recommendation or 'gifts' for recruitment week.
Is it possible to be a full-time student, have a job, join a club, and rush?
Yes, it is absolutely possible to be involved in multiple organization on campus, have a job, and be a full time student. There may be a moments of stress and your student may be overwhelmed at certain points but by working with the organizations staff and student leaders, it is possible to find time for each activity. DU offers a ton of opportunities for student employment on campus and there are hundreds of individuals on campus who are involved with multiple organizations in addition to their school and work load. Please be concise of your well-being, mental health, and happiness levels if this is a path that you or your student takes and reach out to the HHC or any of DU's wellbeing resources for help at any points.
Would FLYTE have a cohort track? Do I need to pick a timeslot for FLYTE early move in? If yes, how do I go about picking a timeslot for September 1?
Since FLYTE is a pre-orientation program, their cohort track is not reflected on this schedule. They are pre-orientation that will be before orientation and the Crimson Connect app is mostly capturing things starting on Sunday, September 1 and beyond. for move in, you will be provided early arrival move-in instructions from the LEP program coordinating your early move in process. If you have any specific FLYTE questions, please reach out to LEP directly and know they will sending out updates within the next couple of weeks.
