Top Questions and Answers:

My child has their own insurance. Can they still utilize the Health & Counseling Center?

Yes, they can use the Health and Counseling Center! They will still pay the Health and Counseling Fee. Student cannot opt out of the Health and Counseling Center fee.

How can my child submit immunization records? What happens if they are turned in late?

Your child can submit immunization records by uploading them to the MyHealth portal or by emailing the Health & Counseling Center at info@hcc.du.edu. Students can find their MyHealth portal by searching "MyHealth" in their MyDU portal. These must be submitted by July 1st, otherwise your child will have a registration hold placed on their account.

My student has a doctor's appointment after the July 1 deadline and we can't submit immunization records by the deadline. What should we do?

Email info@hcc.du.edu for the next steps. As long as you communicate before the deadline and follow the directions provided by the HCC, your student's registration should not be impacted.

How will my student know when their immunization records have been processed?

Immunization records are currently being processed within 2-3 business days. In their MyHealth portal, they will see a compliancy section. If that section states they are in compliancy, that means their immunization records have been processed.

How does counseling work at the HCC?

Students can have 10 counseling sessions for $20 each per year. After the 10th visit, the fee will increase. Students can begin reaching out to HCC counselors on September 1st, and students can have regular visits with the same counselor throughout the year. Please see https://studentaffairs.du.edu/health-counseling-center/insurance-plans-fees/service-fees for more information on counseling fees and payment.

Is there a pharmacist at the HCC? Can we get monthly shots set up there?

The Health and Counseling Center does not have its own pharmacist, but there are several stores with a pharmacy within walking distance to campus. Students can receive their monthly allergy shots at the HCC – reach out now to see what information and forms are necessary.
